Two domains, one belief

We build software for languages, and for work

Born from a passion for language preservation, Wekify grew into a broader tech company. Peacae is the sub-brand that holds everything we build beyond language work.

Domains

Two domains, one belief

What's worth keeping is worth building for.

How we work

Preserve. Empower. Modernize.

We don't just build software — we build it around what a community or a person actually needs to keep going. That means starting local, staying practical, and never treating a language — or a workflow — as something to modernize at the cost of what made it worth keeping in the first place.

  • Preserve

Language, memory, culture, and community records worth keeping.

  • Empower

Tools communities and people can use, adapt, and grow with.

  • Modernize

Work that should not stay stuck offline — without losing what mattered.

Origin story

Why Wekify exists

From one language at risk to two domains of software — rooted in community, built for the long term.

  1. It started with a language

Wekify started with a language. Kifuliiru — spoken by the Bafuliiru people of South Kivu, in the Democratic Republic of Congo — needed digital infrastructure to survive into the next generation: a dictionary, tools to write it, a way for a community to keep building it together. That need became Kifuliiru Lab.

  2. Infrastructure grew around it

Building that infrastructure meant building everything around it too — tools for managing the work, presenting ideas, staying organized. Rather than force those tools to pretend they were about language, we gave them their own name: Peacae.

  3. The thread that connects both

Wekify is Swahili-rooted, from Kuweka — to keep, to preserve, to hold safe. It's the thread that runs through everything we build, whether it's a language or a piece of software.
